Here is Kate's version...

Marcia and Steve had a brilliant time last year in jolly, olde England. Steve worked, Marcia sketched, and the Queen cackled. We went on many walking tours and learned things like: Jerry Tullmann is a descendant of Jack the Ripper, the Tower of London was the prison for Vincent Gallo's grandfather, and the London Bridge didn't fall down, it was eaten. We strolled through the rose gardens, toured through England, Scotland & Ireland and picked up REALLY bad English accents to delight and astound you with as the occasion merits. As a bonus, we both made it to Berlin, and Steve traveled far and wide throughout the continent for work.

Now that we're back in the colonies, Marcia works P/T for the Haight Ashbury Free Medical Clinic as the HIV/Hep-C Testing Coordinator. The job is cute as a button! The test counselors at HAFMC, and the satellite sites - the Women's Community Clinic and the San Francisco Needle Exchange - are totally santastic and a delight to work with. It's a lot like winning money. She's also still volunteering at the Woman's Community Clinic.

Steve is no longer with Inktomi, and plans to next work for a company with a pronounceable/spellable name, perhaps a name that reminds you of: lava lamp. The tech industry being a sort of amplified proxy for the trends in the economy makes achieving this a lot like getting a medal in figure skating. Since the computer market is a bit psychadelic right now, he might also consider a career as a trash collector, or move to the middle of nowhere to bake (and eat) Christmas cookies and festive cakes and winter pies and ...

Things are going well in San Francisco. Come visit us - stay at our apartment, get an HIV test and a bunch of condoms, and have a groovy time. We'll take you to some great restaurants to have some salad rolls. We're sure we can find you a place for justifying gerund) your dog collar. Enjoy life!

Love,

Marcia and Steve
